While this thought may be scary to many individuals out there, this is the reality. There’s nothing to worry about, though. Of course, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try to cover these ten things the next time you clean your house.

Knobs, Handles, and Pulls

When we clean, we mostly focus on large areas and surfaces. However, the oven knobs, doorknobs, or cabinet handles are little surfaces that we use so much more than other surfaces in the house. Make sure to use a germ-resistant solution when focusing on these for a full house clean

Ceiling Fan Blades

Yep, if you have one of those in your house, we’re ready to bet a lot of money you never thought about cleaning the blades on the side that’s facing the ceiling. And while this could be one of those extreme tips on how to keep the house clean, it’s not something to ignore. When the conditions are just right, mold can form on that surface and can pose a severe risk to your health.

Any Surface that is Above Sight

We all know how hard it is to take care of those high counters, the top of the fridge, or even the microwave oven if you keep it way up in your kitchen furniture. In addition, if you won’t have to tackle these areas every time you clean, keeping house clean means you need to think about them now and then at least.

Surfaces that are Below-Sight

Thought that only high pieces of furniture or electronics are left behind when it comes to cleaning? Nope. The same applies to surfaces that are below-sight, where the vacuum cleaner can’t be used. We’re talking about drawers, a small table with an inside surface, or even a bookshelf. One of the best clean house tips for these surfaces is to use a handheld vacuum cleaner and make sure to go over them ever time after using the big vacuum cleaner.

Books

Sure, it might not serve as the best motivation to clean the house. However, taking good care of your library is also important. If you have a vast collection of books, you may want to consider an industrial way of cleaning them. However, with a smaller library, you can get things done in a few hours. On average, it’s about 20 seconds per book, so you should be able to calculate the time needed for the entire operation.

Display Surfaces

All right, perhaps it’s not that common to forget about cleaning up these display surfaces. However, it does take a lot of effort. It’s especially tricky as you will have to remove all the items on the display surface before being able to clean it. Moreover, if you’re like us, a clean house meaning is only complete if those items are also cleaned. So, clean them as you remove them and put them on the floor. Then, wipe the entire surface clean and put them back.

Tile Grout

We know what your first was thought when reading this sub-header. In addition, we’re not trying to make strong ties between a clean house and mental health. We don’t mean to tell you the tile grout needs to be cleaned every time. However, especially if you have tiles around your sink or around the bathtub, you should focus on them a little bit. You can fix them up using a Grout Restorer Pen.

Around the Drains

When cleaning the bathroom, there are many areas of focus. The sink, the toilet itself, toilet seat, shower cabin/bathtub/ However, we always seem to forget about the rings of grim that build up in time around the drains. Use a q-tip and play here with some dish soap to get the job done in no time.

Remote Controls

Yep, it’s one of those devices you use every day. However, we’re sure you rarely, if ever, thought about cleaning them. Especially considering how attractive remote controls are for kids, you should take care of them. Using hand sanitizer is a good idea as it won’t leave any marks or get sticky over time.

Light Switches

Most of the time, you only think about cleaning a light switch cover when it’s obvious it has a very different color than the rest of the wall. Moreover, when you start doing so, you discover that it’s extremely dirty. That should not come as a surprise because light switches are considered the most stained spot in your home.
