Everyday Self-Care: Four On-the-Go Tips for Busy Moms

As a mom, it’s highly unlikely you have much in terms of free-time or time for yourself. Let’s face it, the words “mom” and “busy” just naturally go together. And while that is certainly the norm, it doesn’t mean that it’s healthy for you and that there isn’t any other way. In fact, there are a number of great everyday self-care tips that you can use that are perfect for on-the-go moms who feel as though they come last on the list. There’s no need to make any sacrifices where the kids are concerned, rather, it is about recognizing that your own mental and physical well-being is just as important. Here’s a look at five simple on-the-go self-care tips that even the busiest of moms can adopt.

Pamper Yourself with Free Products

Just because you don’t the time to do research on the latest and greatest skincare products doesn’t mean you can’t try them out. Looking up all the various items online or visiting store after store to speak to different salespeople about skincare products is just plain time-consuming. That is time that you could spend doing more productive things.

By visiting the JustFreebies website, you’ll be able to get samples to try before you buy. What this means is that you can give a variety of products a try over the span of a few days, see how they work with your particular skin type, and make an educated decision before you make a purchase.

Incorporate Exercise into Your Day

There’s a good chance that the minute you read “add exercise to your day” you tuned out thinking there is no time for that. Here’s the thing, exercise doesn’t have to mean going to the gym or a class. Exercise simply means being active for at least 20-30 minutes at a time.

And why is exercise so important for your everyday self-care? Well, it addresses both your mental and physical health, ensuring that you’re fit from head to toe. Not only that but exercising on a regular basis will help improve your strength, endurance, focus, and energy levels. So, start looking for ways you can get moving in the day like taking the kids for a walk or bike ride, doing the chores around the house, gardening, going for a swim with the family, etc.

Be Mindful of What You Eat

You are probably very aware and mindful of what the kids eat, but what about yourself? If you aren’t taking the same care with your own nutritional needs then you are doing yourself a disservice. It’s important to understand that being mindful doesn’t mean you are on some sort of crash or fad diet, rather, it is making sure you are eating a healthy well-balanced diet that includes all the key nutrients, vitamins, and minerals your body needs.

Now that may mean that you need to carry around a few healthy snacks in your purse or bag to nibble on while you’re on the go, but it’s a better solution than reaching for junk.

Give Yourself a Chance to Wind Down in the Evenings

Sleep is another self-care tip that moms often need to be reminded about. Sure it can feel like there is no time for sleep, but if you allow your body to become sleep deprived, you just won’t be able to perform at your peak levels. If you have a hard time falling asleep in the evening, try giving yourself wind down time. Make it a new routine that you stick to each night and before you know it, it will become a habit.
