Soup-Up those Walks

Walking is something that most of us can do and something that we do regularly, so it makes sense to get the most out of all of those steps we take, right? The simplest way to do this is by walking much faster and by swinging our arms more vigorously as we move. You might not think that this will make much difference, but it will definitely burn more calories, which will banish more fat, which will result in a more toned you. Just remember to stretch first for even more benefits!

Increase Your Fat Burning Ability

It’s impossible to look firm and toned if you are carrying excess fat. The more fat you burn, the better you will begin to look provided that you exercise most of that fat away, which means that, even if you’re taking something like a fat burning product, which you can click here to find out about, you need to be moving around and getting your heart rate up. That means doing cardio, but if you want to burn the most fat possible, you can’t just go for a walk or a jog or even a normal aerobics class – you need to focus on a high-intensity routine, like this one, which has been shown to burn more fat when you’re exercising and after you’re done too!

Get Heavy

The absolute best way to firm your body up fast is undoubtedly to add some weight training into your routine. I mean, you don’t see many bodybuilders with lumps and bumps or sagging skin, do you? A lot of women shy away from lifting weights because they think it will turn their feminine physique into a masculine one, but this will not happen, not unless you take lots of body-altering substances anyway. What lifting weights will do is activate your fast-twitch muscle fibers, which means that you will lose weight and build enough muscle to look nicely toned. There really isn’t anything faster you can do, other than going under the surgeon’s knife, if you want to firm up.

Do Some Yoga

Yoga, as a workout, might not have quite the same effect on your muscles as heavy lifting. But there is no denying that the kind of stretches you are asked to get into and hold in yoga are great for working out your muscles and toning you up. With yoga, you build long, lean muscle which helps you to look very toned.  Adding it into your routine, even for just 15 minutes a day will be beneficial.

Think Yourself Firm

If you’re looking for a really lazy way to firm your body, then you will be interested to know that there is some evidence, from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation to suggest that simply thinking about exercising your fingers and biceps for around 15 minutes a day will increase your strength even though you have not actually moved a muscle. The study does not go so far as to day that this will have toning effects on the body, but at the very least, it will make lifting and other exercises feel easier when you do do them because your body will be so much stronger.

Stand Up

Another really simple thing you can do to firm your body is stand up more often. When you stand up, more of your body’s muscles are activates particularly in the legs and core which means that they will start to get more toned. Even if you have to buy a standing desk or you look a bit silly standing tall in front of the TV on movie night, it will be worth it when you tone up and burn more calories, I’m sure you will agree.

These are all simple things that anyone can do to firm your body but don’t let that fool you into thinking that they won’t be effective. If you do as many of these as you can, you will find yourself toning up far faster than you thought possible and with a minimum effort too. Really, what do you have to lose?
