Some of you will work on your bodies all year round, some of you will put your health and wellbeing to the back of your mind for as long as you possibly can. Until you start noticing that maybe you are putting on a little bit too much weight, or perhaps people are starting to comment on things about you. Then all of the sudden, all you can think about is the building insecurities within, and how much you wish you could change your body.
But do you do anything about it? Well, you don’t half try! You start the diet with the utmost optimism, and you think that you’re going to be lean and fit in no time. One week in and you’re having withdrawals, you’re seeing no progress, and the weekend comes along and you dive into all of the snacks. Now this is just every other month of the year, boy is it hard to keep ourselves inline during the festive season. Which is why we want to talk to you about keeping yourself in line this festive season, so that you can have a positive start to 2019.
Discover The Science Behind It
The science behind it is something that we don’t think many people understand, and it’s the lack of understanding that leads people to give us so easily on their health mission. First of all, you have to understand the science behind nutrition. Nina Teicholz, The Big Fat Surprise, is just one book that you could consider reading to get yourself clued up to the good and the bad. You’ll actually find it super interesting to figure out how the different foods are affecting your body. For example, if you’re eating all the right foods, and getting the right amount of vitamins and nutrients a day, your bodies systems are able to function at a much higher level. It’s easier to stay alert, and it’s easier for your body to fight off infection. Because health and well-being is not all about staying slim, it’s about staying healthy!
The Treats That Are Hard To Beat
So, over the festive season you’re definitely going to have to avoid the treats that are going to be all around you. We’re not saying you shouldn’t indulge, because it’s the one time of year when it’s actually allowed. But what you should do is limit yourself. Because binge eating does have such a negative effect on your body, especially when it’s combined with binge drinking. Mince pies, chocolate, and cheese boards will surround you, so try and limit yourself to a treat a day, rather than a whole day of cheats. Except of course for Christmas day, that definitely is a day for splurging.
Keeping A Focus In Sight
Sometimes all you have to do is be super focused on a goal to achieve it, and your goal should be a better you. Whether that involves being happier and healthier, or even just to be slimmer. Having that goal to work towards keeps you on track more than you would imagine.
