Coming into my fourth year of blogging and making my blog a business, I am investing in ways to continue to make it profitable on a daily basis. One of the most concerning things being a blogger is traffic. All bloggers have in common is that the main goal is traffic and gaining page views to their site. If you are producing lots of products and blog posts but are receiving no traffic to your website, your work is almost obsolete! So, how do we keep up in the busy online world and continue to gain an audience and get our products seen. Where to start

After reading by Russell Brunson, I came away with many different ways that I was going to increase my traffic to my website. In his book, he reveals the classic and foundational direct marketing techniques that will allow you to be at the front of new trends and see opportunities that are invisible to everyone else. Russell can share how to master evergreen traffic strategies in order to fill your website and funnels with your dream customers

The first thing I would suggest is read the book through and take notes and/or highlight important information. There is a lot of information in the book so it is important to figure out what you want to focus on and where to begin. Brunson suggests to focus on one of your platforms and then teaches later on how to funnel your work from one platform to all of the others.

So what I did after reading his book was start a 30-day challenge to gain traffic with guidance from his book. I took the challenge on Twitter because I felt that I have a good following that I have a chance to grow my responses on that social platform in relation to blogging tips vs. my Facebook or Instagram audience.

The 30-Day Challenge

Russell Brunson is a Best-Selling Author & CEO of $100M software company ClickFunnels. He has built a following of over a million entrepreneurs, sold hundreds of thousands of copies of his books and popularized the concept of sales funnels. In 2014, Russell and partner Todd Dickerson launched ClickFunnels, which became the fastest-growing non-venture backed software company in the world.

Going through each of the chapters, I especially loved the chapters focusing on Instagram Traffic, Facebook Traffic, Google Traffic and YouTube Traffic. So depending now which platform you were focusing on, you can look at the specific publishing plan for 30 days for each of the platforms that will help you build traffic. Taking the different tips from each platform helped me to figure out what my game plan was for gaining traffic. Specific publishing plans for each of the platforms really helped me figure out how I wanted to strategize and I have a plan set in place for Instagram with building my traffic now.

Find the “Dream 100”

When beginning the 30-day challenge and using the specific publishing plan for the platform you are going to use, it is important to find the “Dream 100”. This is where the 30-day challenge starts and how you work towards gaining that needed traffic. In the book Brunson talks about creating a list of the experts that are in your niche who already have their audience established. They are already doing the work so you are going to be monitoring, engaging and learning from their accounts during those 30 days.

Know Your Sales Pitch – Hook, Story & Offer

After finding your “Dream 100” and starting to engage and learn, it’s time to create your sales pitch. Knowing how to engage and interact with your audience that you have acquired over time, it’s time to start utilizing them to make sales. What’s your story? What are you offering? These are questions that need to be answered before starting. In the book, Brunson talks about about how to perfect your sales pitch in the first part of the book. I learned a lot from that and have been thinking about what my offer is going to be. The 3 need to go together in order to start making those sales.

Recommendations

One of the major takeaways I got from is that I need to find my offer. By increasing my traffic and utilizing the audience that I already have, I am missing out on money that can be made! If you are serious about looking to make money on your blog or your business online, this is a book that can really help point you in the right direction. Just from even changing a few things you can start to see the sales roll in.  Like any other concept when it comes to online business, we have to invest in our business to make money. Consider reading this book like an investment because it is going to point you in the right direction.

By completing the 30-day challenge, you’ll learn key strategies to increase your site traffic. During my 30-day challenge, I saw more traffic come through from Twitter into my blog than ever before, just from publishing every day and getting my name out there to those followers who hadn’t heard from me often.
