How To Stay Occupied During a Pandemic Lockdown

2020 has introduced a new word into many of our day to day vocabulary – lockdown. Before this year, many of us hadn’t experienced a lockdown in our lives. But the coronavirus and Covid-19 pandemic has forced many countries around the world to repeatedly place their citizens into lockdowns which involve people staying at home whenever possible. This, of course, is essential to slow the spread of a potentially deadly virus that has wreaked havoc around the world over the past eight or so months.

But it can also result in many of us experiencing boredom, feelings of isolation and emotional struggles. Staying home without physical or face to face contact with those who don’t live in the same house as you can be difficult. Holidays have been cancelled. Social plans have been cancelled. Events have been cancelled. So what can you do to keep yourself occupied? Here are a few tips that could help you!

Pick Up a Hobby

There are plenty of hobbies that you can pick up from the comfort of your own home. So, why not consider a few and try a few out. Consider your personal interests and preferences and find something that aligns with what you enjoy spending your time doing. This could be learning to knit. It could be picking up painting. It could be writing short stories. It could be learning to bake bread. Whatever tickles your fancy is worth a try. You have nothing to lose!

Play Games

We tend to associate games with our little ones. But there are plenty of entertaining games out there for adults too. You don’t necessarily have to invest in a brand new gaming device or console. Instead, there are plenty of options available on your phone from Candy Crush to Dominoes Gold. Most you can play on your own but some can be multiplayer, meaning you can have some socially distanced fun with your family and friends. Take 4 pics 1 word as an example. You can get really involved in an online game and, if you’re completely stuck, you can find 4 pics 1 word cheat here to help you along the way!

Create Fun School Lunches

Many children are still at school during the lockdowns, so you may want to use the spare time you have on your hands to put a little more effort and creativity into their lunches. You can make food into special shapes and designs that will entertain your little one when they open their lunchbox every day at school! You can find plenty of different ideas and recipes here.
