Working moms have a lot of stress in their lives. Not only are they trying to raise a family, but they’re working 9-5 and coming home to run the house. It can all get overwhelming and messy, especially if we are not including self-care into our daily routines. Becoming run down and having a melt down are common in working moms who only focus on everyone else besides themselves. Therapy is a helpful way for working moms to start including self-care in their lives. Here are five reasons why working moms should seek therapy help.

Finding a therapist
It’s not always easy to find a therapist, and the first place to check is with your insurance. However, not all insurance companies cover therapy and there is where many people stop their search. BetterHelp has a great online resource for finding an online therapist. Whether you are looking for a therapist in the area that you live, or want to find a therapist online, BetterHelp is easy to use.
Therapy doesn’t mean you are a mess
Many times when someone says they are seeing a therapist, we believe it is because they have mental issues or are a mess, unstable or weak. This is not the case. We pass judgment easily before we realize that seeking professional help can make you stronger physically and mentally in the long run. Seeking therapy can actually help you to sort out any issues that you are having in your life and give you the tools to work through it. Setting up an appointment with a therapist can can help you determine if it is for you or not. Try it out for a month and take some time to reflect on the work you have done. Every mom is trying to find their balance and when it comes to dealing with any issues, we tend to keep them all bundled up.

Adding self-care to the mix
Another great reason that therapy can help working moms is by including self-care into the mix. By talking about your problems with a therapist, it can help you start to take care of yourself. Making appointments weekly or trying online therapy can really be helpful for working moms. Consistency is important when trying to find your routine and stick with it. Scheduling in your self-care, whether it be a massage, a therapy session, a fitness class, this helps working moms be accountable and make self-care important.
Final thoughts
In the end, finding a balance to include self-care and therapy in your life is up to you. But remember that your needs are important and making time for yourself is needed. Just because you are a mom, doesn’t mean you need to have it all together. Make an appointment, get things off your chest, and focus on yourself too.

Your mental health is so important. I personally would love to start going back to therapy because I really need it. Moms, it’s okay to seek the help you need ?
totally agreed! it is OKAY to seek help!!!
We all need therapy once in a while! it keeps us sane 🙂
Agreed- it is so good to talk to someone else besides friends and family.
I definitely agree that therapy is beneficial to everyone. I think therapy has been given a bad rep for years and it shouldn’t. Talking it out or even crying will make you feel much better
It really has – I think if it wasn’t given such a bad rep more people would do it. And so many feel that if they are in therapy its because they’re crazy and that’s not even close to the truth!
