These injuries are some of the common ones that hinder one’s ability to walk or stand on his or her own. Ankle Sprains

An ankle sprain is also one of the most common injuries in all sports. Although it’s not as severe as the first two. But it doesn’t mean you can brush it off that easily.

Ankle sprains happen when you roll or twist your ankle because of an awkward or wrong foot landing, which is not new in sports that involve a lot of running and jumping. Once you’ve twisted your ankle, the next thing you know is that your foot ligaments are already torn. Pain, tenderness, and swelling ensue immediately.

If the ligament is completely torn, it’s the third-degree ankle sprain which is the most painful of them all. If you get this injury during a game, all you have to do is to rest your foot, elevate it, and apply ice. Contact a sports podiatrist immediately for your treatment and recovery.
