Trying To Conceive? 5 Top Tips To Help You Get Pregnant

It’s easy to overlook the fact that 85 percent of couples will have no problems conceiving. If a woman has regular sex, she will become pregnant within a year for the fortunate majority. A year, on the other hand, may seem like an eternity after such a significant commitment, and many women are eager to learn how to become pregnant as soon as possible.

While there are no guarantees that a woman will become pregnant quickly, she can take some steps to improve her chances. These can range from determining when they’re most fertile to making small lifestyle changes that can help improve fertility. There are several nutritional components that are not only desirable but also necessary during this exciting preconception stage.

There's no guarantee that a woman will become pregnant quickly. Here's several necessary steps to take when trying to conceive.

Maintain a healthy body weight

Obesity increases a woman’s risk of ovulation problems. Because being overweight can cause an increase in oestrogen production, which can disrupt the ovulation cycle, it’s important to maintain a healthy weight.

The consequences of being underweight are the same as those of being overweight. Anovulation, or the complete cessation of periods, can occur in severely underweight women, resulting in temporary infertility. To improve your chances, eat a healthy, balanced diet and exercise regularly.

Consume nutritious foods

Consume more nutritious foods than you do now. It’s easy to fall into the trap of buying and eating junk food more often than you’d like to admit in today’s society. Junk food has no nutritional value for your body. It may be causing some of the symptoms you’re experiencing, whether or not it’s affecting your waistline.

While it’s fine to indulge in junk food now and then, try to make your meals as nutritious as possible. Eating well will not only help maintain a healthy weight (whether you need to lose or gain), but it will also help your chances of conception – as well as feeding the baby well when you do fall pregnant.

If you’re struggling to control your weight you can speak to your doctor for some extra support. They will be able to suggest things such as diet plans, weight loss medication, and even shakes to help you maintain a healthy weight.

Treat any STIs

If there’s any chance you may have an STI, it’s important to get them treated as soon as possible. Infections and diseases that are sexually transmitted can harm your sexual organs therefore affecting your fertility. Chlamydia can spread to the womb, ovaries, and fallopian tubes in women.

This can result in a condition known as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) (PID). PID can lead to a variety of serious issues, including infertility and difficulty getting pregnant. Luckily this can be treated with chlamydia medication, so speak to your GP as soon as possible to treat it and get tested for any other STIs.

Understand the ovulation cycle

Did you know that if you don’t track your ovulation, getting pregnant can be extremely difficult? Many women become pregnant without doing so, but only because they had sex at the right time and became pregnant. When trying to conceive, there are a variety of ways to track ovulation, but understanding how it all works will help you increase your chances of becoming pregnant.

Kick the bad habits

Smoking is bad for your health in general, but it can also make conception more difficult, so quitting is one of the best things you can do to improve your chances. It’s fine to have a glass of wine now and then, but it’s best to avoid it entirely while pregnant. While you already know that these things are bad when you’re pregnant, quitting smoking and drastically reducing your alcohol consumption will make conception much easier and give you – and your baby – the best chance possible.

If you’re having trouble quitting smoking, talk to your doctor or a pharmacist. Talk to them about how you’re trying to conceive because they might be able to help you.

Get Daddy to change his lifestyle too

Finally, while it’s critical that you stay fit and healthy so that your body is prepared to carry a child, daddy must also do his part. Quitting smoking, reducing alcohol consumption, exercising, and eating healthier foods are all examples of this.

Infertility can be caused by a woman’s problem or by the actions of her male partner. If you’re in a relationship, you’ll need tests, counseling, and treatment recommendations for both of you. Don’t procrastinate any longer. If you’re like most people, the sooner you seek medical help, the sooner you’ll be able to hold your baby in your arms.
