As a new mom or a mom who’s looking for some parenting advice, you may be wondering what you can do to help your child grow up to be confident and joyful. Learn some tips for raising a happy and healthy toddler so you can give yourself a better chance at achieving this goal and be proud that you put forth your best effort as a parent.

1. Focus on Your Happiness & Self-Care

Get happy yourself if you want to raise a happy and healthy toddler. Focus on your happiness and follow through with various self-care activities regularly. The higher your spirits, the better chance there is of your child feeling content and happy as well. Set a good example by taking good care of yourself and not letting your needs slip through the cracks.

The better you feel the easier it’ll be to care for others. When you are in control of your health and your emotions you’ll also be able to be a better listener instead of letting your moods take over and reacting without thinking first.

2. Form & Encourage Good Habits

Another tip for raising a happy and healthy toddler is to form and encourage good habits. Getting enough and a proper amount of sleep, plenty of exercise, and consuming a healthy diet are all ways to boost your child’s wellbeing. It’s also important that you visit your child’s doctor regularly and find a reputable pediatric dentistry office to visit for checkups.

This way you can keep them well and get any questions you have about their health answered. These are the types of habits you should start at a young age so they adopt them and apply them well into adulthood.

3. Teach Optimism & Have A Positive Attitude

You can raise a happy and healthy toddler by teaching optimism and maintaining a positive attitude. Encourage effort but avoid expecting perfection from your child. Be there to support and cheer them on and let them know when they’re doing a good job. Try to use mistakes they make or instances of misbehaving as a chance to teach them the right way or as learning opportunities. Keep a positive and upbeat attitude so they can observe you and try to do the same in their lives.

4. Make Time for Play

One of the best ways to ensure you raise a happy and healthy toddler is to spend more quality time together. Be there for them as much as possible and make time for play and fun. Kids need this type of stimulation to learn and grow. You can use playtime as an opportunity to establish boundaries, offer praise and encouragement, and as a time to listen, laugh, and smile. Be present in your toddler’s life and you’ll be able to build a strong relationship with them and can work on passing on your values and positive habits to them.
