Having children can take up a lot of our time of course, but it’s also important to look after our fitness and health as well. Perhaps you are working out at home and you don’t have the space as well as a lack of time, meaning you are making excuses to not get fit and healthy. But here are some quick workouts you can do before the kids wake up!
Kettlebell Exercises
A simple kettlebell does a lot for toning your body and strength. There are so many different moves you can do with just a simple kettlebell that you can get online for cheap. For example, you can master the kettlebell clean with this complete guide and video tutorial, but there is no limit to what you can achieve with the kettlebell.
Isometrics
This was an exercise routine that was used by housewives in the 60s. The idea was that you tense a part of your body for a few seconds to stimulate muscle growth. While it’s not effective at toning your body when you do it over a matter of seconds, but if you really want to stimulate hypertrophy (changing the shape of the muscle), you need to do it for longer. Be warned, this can be incredibly intense! There are different types of isometrics you can perform, such as overcoming isometrics, where you are trying to move an immovable object, such as pushing against a wall.
5BX
This is an exercise routine you can do in the space of 10 minutes. It is a variation on calisthenics and this guide can show you how to build up your strength gradually. This is one of the best types of workouts out there because it’s over in a matter of minutes, but it also forces us to build up strength gradually.
Burpees
Burpees are one of the best exercises for your body, hands down. In fact, it’s probably the most effective full-body exercise out there! They are incredibly strict and hardcore, but if you want to stimulate every part of your body, burpees can build muscle, improve your cardiovascular fitness, and you can get a toned body really quickly!
Resistance Bands
Resistance bands are an amazing way for you to get fit if you don’t have much space. There are products like the X3 Bar that purely focus on resistance bands as a way to get physically fitter and stronger. The concept is simple: a bar, bands, and a platform, but you can easily make your own if you are tight on finances.
Yoga
You don’t have to spend hours doing yoga if you don’t want to; you can make yoga or pilates a far more intense effort, which does a lot for your body tone. There are plenty of pilates workouts on YouTube that you can get started with.
It’s not easy to get fit and healthy, especially when we’ve got kids but one part of of this solution can be about tackling your fitness before the children wake up!
