Riverfront Walk

While there’s plenty to enjoy in the city, most visitors find their way to the San Antonio River’s edge, where the combination of rushing water and shady trees offers a cool haven even in the heat of the Texas summer. The river walk is perfect for any length of stroll, offering entertainments simply in people-watching, although there are plenty of galleries, museums and shops to divert any visitor. A fun way to take it all in is to board one of the many tour boats, some offering a dining option.

At night the river walk comes alive. Music and dancing spilling out onto the sidewalks. A visit to the historic Aztec on the River Theater is an opportunity to enjoy a live show in historic surroundings. Bars serving up margaritas and local brews are plentiful and are a good way to meet some locals.
